Bag Making 6 years, 2 months ago Hi , I love making bags but struggle with patterns with zips. Once made a large travel bag and the zip drove me nuts.
Anyone have a suggestion to ease me into zips and bags. I’m aiming to do the conference bag once I’ve got my confidence. Don’t have a problem putting zips in clothes!

I’ve found it easier to use wonder clips instead of pins to hold zippers in place while sewing. It seems to distort them less. Also, maybe start with a smaller project/zipper like Deby’s cosmetic bag.

The bag I made a mess of the zip was from a Lisa Lam book. Instructions were confusing, so I went on her website to check the method and she put the zip in a different way. That really threw me , so I ended up winging it a little.
I think you’ll like this one. Her video instructions are really good. She makes it very simple and straight forward. Post a picture if you make it. 🙂
